Omaze - Great

5.0
Details
A Chemistry Professor at Hillsdale College won the Ireland game of thrones trip, and he is a real person. Also, when you donate the money goes to the specific charity listed for prize and that is the charity you list for your tax exemption. Sounds like people may be confused. However, being an international organization, your odds are probably better to win the po we all than an Omaze prize. The difference is the ability to claim on your taxes.

In their latest oddity, Omaze claimed to be giving away a Lamborghini that was blessed by the Pope. Problem is that it happened in Vatican City, and was auctioned by Sotheby's in England....

Lamborghini's are imported here to the USA and sold at dealerships nationwide. Pope could easily go to the factory, sign a car, and Lamborghini allocates that VIN to the US. Lots of European manufacturers also offer European delivery programs, where you can drive your car in Europe before it gets exported to the USA.

Omaze is a US Federal and California state registered "for profit" company. It is not a registered as a charity. Yet they claim donations to them are charitable deductions and claim you can deduct your donations. . ... If people make large donations and deduct them,...

Your donation goes to the charity listed, i.e. World Vision was the charity supporting the game of thrones prize and is tax deductible.

Omaze simply collects the money for them and charges World Vision a fee for doing so. Check with your CPA with any questions.

Omaze - Sketchy Scam

Last year they “raised” $100,000,000 for charity. According to their website that equates to: $666,000,000+ grossed $466,000,000+ spent on ads/prizes $100,000,000+ given to charity $100,000,000+ pocketed. I mean spent on running the lottery—I mean charity. Lord know how much more since then.

Omaze is a scam not because of the salty people who didn't win but because of the buisness model. THIS IS TAKEN DIRECTLY FROM THEIR FINEPRINT. Omaze donates, (NOT YOU, this is THEIR tax write off) 15 cents of every dollar to the actual charity. (15% PEOPLE) 70 cents is...
